Intermediate Interior Designer – Hospitality Full Time

Our client is an internationally recognized interior design studio delivering high-end hospitality projects across luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, and residential developments. Their work is recognized for its strong creative direction, technical precision, and ability to create thoughtful, experience-driven environments.

They are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their Toronto studio. This role is ideal for a designer who brings both strong design instincts and growing technical confidence, and is ready to take on greater ownership across project phases while continuing to build leadership skills.

Role Overview

The Intermediate Interior Designer will contribute to the delivery of complex, design-driven projects from concept through documentation. Working closely with senior team members, this individual will support studio design standards, contribute to design discussions, and take increasing ownership over assigned project scope.

This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in design development, space planning, materials, FF&E, presentations, and technical documentation, while coordinating with consultants, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design Contribution and Development

• Support studio design standards and contribute actively to design discussions
• Drive material research, FF&E selection, and design exploration
• Contribute ideas that help advance the overall project vision
• Lead design development, space planning, and presentations with increasing independence

Project Delivery and Documentation

• Prepare and coordinate drawing packages with accuracy and attention to detail
• Manage assigned scope of work with growing ownership and accountability
• Support schedules, documentation, and technical drawing coordination across project phases
• Help ensure design intent is carried through from concept to execution

Coordination and Team Support

• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and external partners
• Maintain organized project communication and follow-up
• Begin mentoring junior designers while continuing to strengthen leadership skills

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of relevant professional experience
• Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Experience in hospitality, luxury residential, or design-focused commercial projects
• Strong abilities in design development, space planning, and technical documentation
• Experience with material research, FF&E selection, and presentation development
• Strong coordination skills with consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
