Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Tier 1 Information Technologist to serve as a first point of contact for internal technical support requests. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, helping users, and building a strong foundation in IT support within a fast paced team environment. You will troubleshoot common hardware and software issues, support onboarding and offboarding, maintain accurate ticket records, and escalate more complex issues when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first line support for Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and other standard business applications
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, mobile devices, and user access issues
• Support password resets, account provisioning, MFA onboarding, and basic permissions administration
• Assist with diagnosing connectivity issues across LAN, Wi Fi, and VPN environments
• Respond to support requests in person, by phone, by email, and through the ticketing system
• Maintain professional and user friendly communication with staff across the organisation
• Log, prioritise, and track helpdesk tickets accurately
• Document solutions, recurring issues, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing
• Support onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and hardware preparation
• Maintain inventory records for laptops, monitors, accessories, and software licences
• Assist with workstation setups, office moves, hardware refreshes, cybersecurity improvements, and SharePoint related projects

Education and Experience

• 1 to 2 years of IT support experience or a relevant diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools
• Ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues independently
• Experience with SharePoint and OneDrive administration is an asset
• Exposure to Active Directory or Azure AD is an asset
• Experience with cybersecurity tools such as EDR, MFA, or email security is an asset
• CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are an asset

Salary

$40,000 to $60,000 CAD
