As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Associate in Short Hills, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon11:00 AM – 07:00 PMSun11:00 AM – 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access expectations, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a luxury retail location.
• Respond to incidents, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with store leadership and/or Allied Universal management as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, stock areas, entrances, exits, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor foot traffic, observe for unusual behavior, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns that could impact daily operations.
• Support loss prevention awareness by maintaining a visible presence, assisting with opening and closing procedures, and following post orders related to alarms, deliveries, and after-hours access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
