About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years related experience in property management in an outdoor environment preferred.
• Become a member of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Maintain membership through the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana.
• Maintain a valid IN driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
• Must successfully complete pool maintenance certification within 30 days of hire date and maintain certification once achieved.
• Must have experience and be physically able to perform a wide range of construction, maintenance, mechanical and janitorial duties.
• Ability and willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must have prior work experience or formal training in building and ground safety inspections or related fields.
• Ability to detect mechanical and other problems in vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to accomplish assigned tasks in an organized, professional manner without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Council Requisition Software.
• Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all structures and grounds of camp properties.
• Thoroughly clean and inspect buildings/areas after rental departures.
• Assist Director of Properties in establishing the plan of work for property.
• Purchase needed supplies with approval from the Director of Property.
• On call for after-hour emergencies.
• Maintain all equipment and tools in safe working order.
• Operate trucks, tractors, and power tools in a safe and professional manner.
• Maintain inventory of all equipment on sites.
• Ensure the safety of all campsites and structures.
• Check campers in and out of sites, as needed.
• Deliver equipment and supplies to campers, as needed.
• Work collaboratively with program teams to make property and program activities accessible to girls and families.
• Actively supports and promotes the Council’s plan and commitment to program delivery and diversity.
• Seeks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all council operations with positive and creative approaches to challenges.
• Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Embraces fund development as an important component of job-related responsibilities by supporting and initiating fund-raising efforts.
• Ensure that diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated into the daily work of the position.
• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership.

• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor to meet the needs of the Council.
• Assist other camps/offices as needed.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and can easily articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization.
