Job Description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will ensure that our suppliers of custom engineered hardware are capable of consistently and reliably manufacturing / fabricating hardware to Oceaneering purchase orders via design drawings, specifications, and requirements with minimum oversight, inspection, or rework. The role supports Oceaneering Umbilical projects, programs, and development initiatives by providing technical input and guidance on; umbilical manufacturing techniques, Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE), materials, welding, machining, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) reviews, First Article Inspection (FAI) development, assessing design manufacturability, clarification of specifications, understanding / application of Oceaneering Quality Codes, process enhancements, and improvements. Lead Pre-production meetings that mitigate supplier production risks in the early phase of manufacturing / fabrication. The role assures suppliers are in the best position to deliver our hardware / services with first-time quality, thereby allowing for lower costs and on-time delivery. This position works with suppliers to develop and implement best practices / supplier development that target defect prevention, variation, and waste.
