SEMH Teaching Assistant – Flitwick

£460-£500 per week
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a key source of support for pupils who require emotional guidance and behavioural consistency to succeed in school. Many of the children you’ll work with may face challenges such as:
* Emotional regulation and anxiety
* Behavioural and attachment-related needs
* Low confidence and self-belief
* Difficulties with social interaction and communication
* Trauma-informed needs
* You’ll support pupils both one-to-one and in small groups, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils throughout the school day to access learning
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Helping pupils develop coping strategies and resilience
* Encouraging positive interactions with peers and staff
* Working closely with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
* Contributing to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Who We’re Looking For
* A patient, empathetic, and dependable individual
* Someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people
* Confident in building trusting relationships
* Able to stay composed in challenging situations
* A team player with good communication skills
* Previous SEMH or SEND experience is helpful but not essential
* A willingness to learn and develop within education and training
