Job Title: Junior QA Analyst / Manual Tester (Field Testing)

Location: Vancouver, BC (Onsite – Field Role, PST Hours)

Type : Contract – 4 months

Job Summary

We are hiring QA Analysts (Manual Testing) for a field-based role in Vancouver. This position involves hands-on testing of consumer hardware/software devices across multiple locations. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel within the city and working in dynamic real-world environments rather than a traditional lab or remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to create detailed test plans and test cases
• Execute manual test cases on devices using real-world, scenario-based testing
• Travel across multiple locations (Airbnb sites) within Vancouver for field testing
• Stay at assigned locations (approx. 3 days per site) and continue testing activities
• Perform indoor and outdoor testing (3–5 days per week)
• Identify, isolate, document, and track defects through resolution
• Conduct regression testing and validate fixes
• Support setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of devices during testing and live sessions
• Analyze test results and provide clear, actionable reports
• Assist field operations and trials team with technical support
• Ensure data integrity, reporting, and documentation of testing processes
• Work closely with development teams to improve product quality

Technical Skills & Requirements

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and manual testing processes
• Experience writing test plans, test cases, and defect reports
• Hands-on testing experience with mobile devices (iOS/Android)
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and networking fundamentals
• Familiarity with tools like Jenkins (basic level acceptable)
• Experience in consumer electronics, hardware/software integration testing, or field testing
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues in real-time

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1–2+ years of QA/manual testing experience (depending on level)
• Experience in lab or field testing environments
• Comfortable working in non-traditional environments and handling physical tasks (lifting up to 25 lbs)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with prototype devices and beta testing programs
• Exposure to field trials, user testing, or customer feedback collection
• Experience deploying and validating software updates
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational ability

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

• This is NOT a work-from-home role
• Extensive travel within Vancouver (up to ~160 Airbnb locations)
• Stay 3 days at one site, then move to the next location
• Flexibility in working hours/days based on project needs

Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
