About The Position
Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Director of Quality for a full-time leadership role in Ottumwa, Iowa. This hospital-based leadership role directs quality and risk department activities and resources, is responsible for achieving departmental and organizational objectives, and oversees compliance, performance, and operational effectiveness. The role involves working with internal staff and external stakeholders and exposure to the hospital environment, including clinical areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) REQUIRED
- Ability to manage and direct staff and departmental operations REQUIRED
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance (including HIPAA) REQUIRED
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills REQUIRED
- Ability to manage budgets, audits, and departmental performance REQUIRED
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards
- Direct and evaluate departmental operations including patient care delivery and quality control
- Monitor staffing, hiring, training, and performance management
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets
- Coordinate and direct internal and external audits
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards including HIPAA
- Manage quality improvement and complaint resolution processes
