The Opportunity
This is a newly created, senior-level role for a seasoned logistics and transportation leader who understands the realities of commodities-based, agriculture-driven supply chains, particularly in Western Canada. As JGL continues to grow across multiple divisions, we are intentionally strengthening the systems, processes, and partnerships that support how agricultural products move from origin to customer, often across large geographies, seasonal cycles, and volatile markets.
This role is not about maintaining the status quo. It is about bringing experienced judgment to complex logistics challenges that are unique to agriculture and commodity markets. This includes the movement of grain, wheat, barley, oats, canola, pulses, and livestock-related products, where volumes fluctuate, timing matters, margins are tight, and weather and market conditions can change quickly.
You will have the opportunity, and the expectation, to step back, assess how we operate today, and help design a more efficient, resilient, and scalable logistics and transportation model for the future. In doing so, you will directly influence cost control, asset utilization, service reliability, and how JGL delivers value to producers and partners across Western Canada and North America.
You will work closely with leaders across Commodities, Livestock, Logistics, Ag Retail, and Finance to ensure our transportation strategies reflect real-world agricultural operations and support JGL’s broader goals and long-term vision.
For the right individual, this is a rare opportunity to build and shape a core function from the ground up within a respected, Saskatchewan-based organization that values practical experience, strong relationships, and long-term thinking.
