About The Position
Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to work Full-time in the Medical Department at the Ulster County Jail located in Kingston NY. In this role, the Administrative Assistant will provide clerical support to our staff. This position receives a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff. Correctional healthcare is similar to working in an emergency room or a clinic. Each day is both challenging and rewarding. We are dedicated to our employees and will provide the knowledge and training to administer premier healthcare in the correctional environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years office administrative support in medical setting.
- Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terms and abbreviations
- Ability to work with confidential matters and information is required
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written and an ability to interact well with others
- Must be organized with the ability to multitask and have a willingness to work
- Must be able to deal with difficult people/situations in a calm polite manner
Responsibilities
- Handles incoming phone calls from other departments and facilities.
- Filing, faxing, and data entry.
- Scanning documents into the computer.
- Assisting with the credentialing process of new hires.
- Maintaining a staff log.
- Scheduling transports.
- Scanning medical files and responding to record requests.
- Working closely with the management team in the medical department to manage daily tasks.
- Assisting with billing.
