*Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on tractors, trailers, and heavy equipment using schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
* Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brake systems, and other critical vehicle components.
* Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques to meet operational demands.
* Maintain and repair farm machinery and other heavy-duty machinery ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Troubleshoot perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately for efficient repairs.
* Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols while providing excellent service on-site or in the field.
*Skills*
* Proven experience working as a mechanic background preferred – minimum Level 2, inc car knowledge.
* Strong knowledge of tractor & harvesting trailers.
* Computer literate and to enable maintenance and safety records are kept up to date.
* Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repairs.
* Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of using power tools safely and effectively.
* Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery and automotive repair with a focus on vehicle maintenance and assembly.
* Ability to lift heavy components safely during tire service or equipment repair; excellent problem-solving skills with electrical experience a plus.
* Strong communication skills; capable of working independently in the field while maintaining safety standards.
* Punctuality and reliability is essential.
