Job Description

We are seeking an HVAC Technician to join our team due to upcoming retirements within the next year or two. This union position involves service and repair work on a wide array of units, including split units. The technician will collaborate with outsourced vendors on larger rooftop projects, assisting whenever vendors are onsite.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnosing, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
• Replace motors, belts, and filters as needed.
• Turn on and off steam lines as part of routine operations.
• Assist vendors with larger projects on rooftop units.
• Be available for emergency call-ins and campus events.

Essential Skills

• Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform HVAC service and troubleshooting.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and mechanical repair.
• HVAC service experience of 3+ years.
• Ability to replace motors, belts, and filters.
• Experience in service repair work on split units, including electrical assembly and blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mass HVAC Refrigeration license is ideal but not mandatory.
• EPA Universal license is required.

Work Environment

This position is based on a university campus with a day shift schedule from 7 am to 3 pm. The role includes availability for emergency call-ins and campus events, with overtime compensated at time-and-a-half after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $74817.60 – $74817.60/yr.
