As Category Insights Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping category and channel strategies for major Canadian retailers. You’ll use dataand analytics, along with consumer insights, to tell compelling stories, influence decisions, and drive both category and brand growth. You’ll work closely with sales, strategy, and leadership teams—and be recognized as the category expert with customers.
This is a high-impact role for someone who wants visibility, ownership, and the chance to make recommendations that get executed.
What you’ll do
Be the category expert
- Own category management across key accounts, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Develop category definitions, roles, and scorecards across the 4Ps: assortment, pricing, promotion, and placement/shelving.
- Continuously assess performance and adjust strategies to unlock growth.
Turn data into stories
- Analyze Nielsen and other syndicated data, Retailer POS, scan, and loyalty data, to uncover shopper and category insights.
- Build compelling selling stories and presentations for customer reviews and internal leadership.
- Clearly communicate “what it means” — not just “what the data says.”
Drive growth with customers
- Identify opportunities that benefit both Ricola and our retail partners.
- Lead category and channel analyses for strategic retailers, including competitive and market share analysis.
- Partner with Sales Strategy and Key Account teams to align pricing and promotional strategies.
Collaborate & influence
- Work closely with the Regional Director of Category & Customer Insights and the Canadian leadership team.
- Support and collaborate with the sales team providing timely insights and presentation materials to respond to fast‑moving customer needs.
- Educate internal and customer teams on category trends, brand performance, and KPIs.
- Leverage consumption data metrics to influence supply chain from production to shopper purchase.
What you bring
Must‑haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant specialization
- 2+ years of experience in CPG category management
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations
- Experience and expertise with syndicated data, POS, and advanced analytics platforms
- Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint/Excel and Power BI
- Confident communicator and presenter—comfortable telling a story with insights
- Solid understanding of the Canadian retail landscape
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
- English required; Quebec French is an asset
Nice to have
- MBA or Master’s degree
- Experience in demand planning, supply chain, forecast modelling
- Exposure to e‑commerce or digital retail
- Experience working with global teams or international markets
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a bias for action

Additional Details
- Office: At least two days per week in downtown Toronto
- Travel: As needed within Canada for customer and company meetings (may require US or International travel)
