Offering regular research, analysis, case studies, and newsletters, IEM leverages proprietary datasets to provide detailed visibility into Indigenous ownership, financial participation, and project involvement. Role Description

This is a part-time, remote Researcher role at Indigenous Energy Monitor. The Researcher will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, analyzing data, updating databases, preparing reports, and contributing to case studies. The Researcher will also track developments in Indigenous participation within the energy and resource sectors, support the collection and management of proprietary datasets, and collaborate with team members to produce relevant publications.

Qualifications

• Strong research and analytical skills, including experience gathering, assessing, and synthesizing data
• Ability to create clear and concise reports, case studies, and data-driven content
• Proficiency in data management, including familiarity with spreadsheets, analysis tools, or databases
• Strong written and communication abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
• Experience or knowledge of Indigenous communities, energy industries, or Canada’s resource sectors is an asset
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Environmental Studies, Indigenous Studies, Economics, or Data Science is preferred
