About The Position

Requirements

• Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Bank services and products.
• Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures.
• At least five years of related experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
• At least five years lending experience.
• Commercial Lending experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
• Well organized.
• Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

• Directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch.
• Ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed.
• Overseeing provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers.
• Ensuring that customers are promptly and professionally served.
• Training, directing, and supervising branch staff.
• Ensuring quotas of branch transactions, loan volumes, expenses, and profitability are in line with Bank standards.
• Receiving, reviewing, and evaluating commercial loan requests.
• Meeting with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain loan information and documentation.
• Monitoring and reviewing construction and development loans.
• Maintaining repossessed properties and assisting in collections’ activities.
• Serving borrowers and prospective borrowers promptly and professionally.
• Providing general Bank information and cross selling services.
• Supervising work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations.
• Ensuring branch security.
• Opening and closing the building in accordance with set hours and testing security equipment quarterly.
• Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with established Bank policies and with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Supervising and assisting with customer service functions.
• Assisting in New Accounts and on Teller line as needed.
• Cross-selling Bank services.
• Implementing changes to established policies and procedures within the branch.
• Ensuring that all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day.
• Overseeing individual accountability for the handling of cash and assisting Tellers in resolving balancing problems.
• Controlling and handling daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Periodically verifying cash in possession of Tellers and cash on the premises.
• Providing leadership through effective objective setting and communication.
• Directly supervising all branch personnel.
• Ensuring that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained.
• Conducting sales coaching with all branch personnel according to Prosperity Sales philosophy.
• Determining work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
• Conducting regular meetings with branch associates to inform and train.
• Discussing areas needing improvement and changes in procedure.
• Conducting weekly meetings with branch management staff to coordinate activities for the following week.
• Ensuring that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs.
• Completing orientation of new associates in overall branch procedures.
• Performing cross training as necessary.
• Conducting security training.
• Conducting Sales Training.
• Ensuring that personnel are effective and optimally used.
• Determining appropriate staffing levels for proper utilization of human resources.
• Tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals on each associate at least twice annually.
• Formulating and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Recommending promotions for associates as appropriate.
• Providing leadership training to associates seeking management opportunities.
• Approving all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time sheets for each branch associate.
• Keeping accurate payroll and attendance records.
• Ensuring that customers’ requests and questions are promptly resolved.
• Handling customers’ complaints.
• Ensuring that customers are informed of Bank services and policies.
• Counseling customers regarding their financial needs and services requested.
• Ensuring that the Bank’s quality reputation is maintained and projected.
• Acquiring new business by performing sales calls.
• Ensuring that branch operations are well coordinated with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions.
• Managing and overseeing expenses.
• Pursuing cost-saving measures.
• Continually seeking ways to improve branch operations and productivity and to meet established goals.
• Preparing periodic branch activity reports and making recommendations to management for improvements.
• Ensuring that proper maintenance and general housekeeping of the building, grounds, work areas, desks, and equipment is carried out, including snow and ice removal.
• Ensuring that adequate supplies, forms, and equipment are available for personnel.
• Instituting prudent safety measures.
• Keeping management informed of branch activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems.

• Filling in and performing duties in branch positions as needed.

• Interviewing, taking applications, and processing preliminary documentation on commercial loan requests.
• Discussing loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit positive responses from customers.
• Analyzing and evaluating loan requests and preparing written submission for consideration by the Commercial Loan Committee.
• Identifying problems or potential problems with credit information and coordinating with the necessary party to resolve the problems.
• Assisting in review of construction loan advances on commercial properties.
• Conducting property inspections as assigned.
• Following up on all matured loans.
• Assisting in the collection of delinquent accounts.
• Completing lending functions in accordance with established Bank policies and legal requirements.
• Coordinating functions with related departments and branches and providing support as needed.
• Assisting Commercial Lending personnel and providing support as needed.

• Serving as a member of the Commercial Loan Committee.
