About the team

The Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team is responsible for the accurate presentation and filing of all required SEC reporting, the assessment and implementation of new accounting standards and conclusions on technical accounting matters. Our team acts as a vital business partner to the organization. We are the primary liaison to the external audit team, work closely with the earnings team for quarterly reporting and consult with business management on unusual or new transactions.

Responsibilities

• 
  Lead the preparation and review of required SEC reports, including 10-Q’s, 10-K’s, 8-K’s and registration statements in accordance with applicable generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with SEC rules and regulations

• 
  Review and provide feedback on internal and external communications, including the sustainability report and investor relations earnings releases, shareholder letters, scripts, and presentations

• 
  Partner with and influence cross functional teams to support effective environmental, social, governance (ESG) reporting

• 
  Maintain the SEC calendar, coordinate key timelines & deliverables, and proactively manage cross-functional information gathering activities

• 
  Document and design internal controls related to financial reporting to ensure compliance with SOX

• 
  Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities related to financial reporting with the external auditors, as well as testing by internal and external auditors on Internal Controls over Financial Reporting

  Drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the SEC reporting operational processes, with a focus on improvement in execution and optimization

  Coach, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team through challenging quarterly cycles with structure, vision, and leadership

• 
  This role partners closely with the Technical Accounting side of the team, occasionally participating in technical accounting analysis of significant or unusual transactions, or recently issued accounting updates

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $120,900.00 – $193,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirements
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Exceptionally organized and strong at execution, follow-up, and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment working with others
Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
Certified Public Accountant
8+ years of relevant work experience, ideally with both Big 4 public accounting experience and SEC reporting experience with a large publicly traded company.
