You’ll have the opportunity to impact an extremely wide variety of projects which support three of the largest rental websites, Zillow, Trulia, and HotPads.

About the role

As a Principal Front End Engineer on the Javascript Infrastructure Team, you will design and develop systems which support feature teams throughout the Rentals organization. You will be responsible for introducing and maintaining tools which enhance the development, deployment, performance, and monitoring experience of many types of frontend applications.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $177,100.00 – $282,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• Significant experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS (4+ years of experience).

• Experience writing and publishing shared NPM modules Experience with frontend build tools like Webpack, Rollup, Babel.

• Experience developing front end web applications using React and state management systems such as Redux or Apollo Experience analyzing and optimizing for front end specific performance metrics.

• Experience with architecture and performance optimization of production systems Experience leading a project from design through release.

Nice To Have:

• Experience with cloud services like AWS S3, SQS, EKS

• Experience with infrastructure and deployments using AWS and Docker/Kubernetes.
