Zendesk Hiring for Software Engineer – Web Widget Job at Melbourne Full Time

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a small team of creative engineers working on the Admin experience, Services and Infrastructure for the Zendesk Embeddable Web Widget. We maintain multiple services spanning many languages and work with very high amounts of traffic daily.

This team is responsible for he Web Widget and Web Widget (Classic). Web Widgets exist today on over 100,000+ websites to enable our customers to provide relevant, in-context support to their end-users. We are working with many teams around the world to deliver a top of the line, messaging first experience that can be used across many channels to enable end users to get the help they need however they like.

• Experience or exposure to web technologies such as HMTL, CSS and Javascript.

• Willingness to work on the entire tech stack, not just frontend or backend

• A team first, collaborative spirit.

• Flexibility to pivot with changing priorities.

• A desire to learn and grow!

• Work alongside dedicated engineers, product managers and designers who care about the solutions they provide and the code we write

• Participate in the development life-cycle including conception, design, implementation, testing, rollout and making everything run efficiently and safely in production.

• Support customers and the product by helping the team focus on observability, monitoring and a lightning-fast ability to respond to service incidents.

• Collaborate with teams located in other offices and time zones on joint projects

• Actively participate in coding, pair programming, reviewing pull requests and testing.

Work with a modern web stack including Ruby on Rails, Redis, MySQL, NoSQL and Kafka on the back-end and React on the frontend to build and maintain Services that can handle hundreds of millions of daily requests optimally without degrading performance.

We don’t require previous experience with this exact technology stack and will help teach you what we know!
