Overview

Duties and responsibilities will include management of daily banking and reconciliation, monthly sales reporting, , revenue assurance, assisting with the preparation of management accounts, preparation of monthly reporting packs and other ad hoc duties within the Finance team.

As the role is an apprenticeship the role will be 80% based in the office/ remote working as part of a team of 7 within the finance team and 20% off the job training with our training partner BPP, working towards achieving a level 3 AAT accounting qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Dealing with the our largest and most complex supplier invoices and queries, including bill coding and processing
• Dealing with our suppliers on high-level contractual and billing queries and disputes
• Calculating and validating supplier rebates
• Processing invoices and handling any queries
• Purchase Ledger backup and support during busy periods
• Daily banking and reconciliation of bank statement backup
• Supporting the Management Accountants as part of month end preparations
• Statistical Reporting for Internal & External Stakeholders
• Working independently in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts including:

  • Accrual & Prepayments
  • Trend Commentary
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation for key Balance Sheet Accountants
  • Contributing to Divisional Reporting and report packs
• Working with the other accountants in supporting the Annual Budget and Forecast Preparation
• Working with Auditors at Year End
• Regulatory Reporting

Essential- Skills & experience

• Forward thinking and proactive
• Able to identify financial and business risks to the company
• Confident to challenge and question assumptions made by the business
• A self-starter who is enthusiastic & organised and able to work under minimal supervision
• Strong academic background

Preferable- Skills & experience

• Previous experience accountancy role
• Previous experience in an IT or Telecoms environment
• Experience in MS Excel
• Experience using SAGE 200 or similar package
