Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is currently seeking an Engineer IV, Electrical for a direct hire position located in Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC engineering office.

Position Synopsis: Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects. Successful candidate must have past experience with evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, having used independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications and designs and ability to present and justify modification packages to quality and safety reviews. Individual will possess superior technical knowledge of electrical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions, propose modifications and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety and reliability. Individual must have ability to interface and work with equipment vendors as needed. Experience in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers is required.

Must be familiar with codes and standards applicable to the nuclear power industry as well as possess working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations (including the NRC). Superior client skills and understanding of the roles of other disciplines, as well as the ability to coordinate and interface with other disciplines is a must.

Education Required: BS in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Experience Required: 10 years (minimum) of related experience. At least 5 of those years with nuclear commercial power plant experience and actual field experience on nuclear power plant projects. Experience with operating plant procedures, processes and nuclear plant licensing is required.

Other Qualifications Required: All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures and processes. Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with occasional periods of field/office work. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.

Preferred Education: MS from an ABET accredited engineering program is desirable.

Preferred Experience: Experience in the nuclear power industry and actual field experience on nuclear plant projects is desired. Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques is a plus.

Preferred Certification(s) or License(s): Professional Engineering registration (PE) is desirable.
