General Statement of Duties: The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for digital marketing for YWCA Columbus, including social media, website, email sends, advertising, and analytics. The coordinator will work closely with departments across the organization, YWCA leadership, and external vendors to promote the YWCA’s mission and vision.
General Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
Establish and execute a social media calendar for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to promote the organization’s services and community impact.
Write, post, and monitor for all YWCA Columbus social media accounts, responding to comments and inquiries as needed. Monitor all accounts throughout the day every day. [MH1]
Work with program directors to understand goals and priorities, and draft content to reflect these priorities.
Create strategic social media plans for events to promote attendance, day-of interaction, and continued post-event engagement.
Exercise judgment to prioritize social media statements and quiet periods based on organization’s interests and societal factors. Monitor local and national media and social media for ongoing events and topics that may be relevant to YWCA Columbus’ work.
Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow social media following and engagement year-over-year.
Work with the Creative Services Coordinator to ensure graphics and visuals are prepared to align with the social media strategy.
Digital advertising
Serve as the lead point person for all digital advertising placements, including social media ads, Google ads, Facebook fundraisers, and external media vendors.
Write digital ad content and place and monitor the ads.
Research best practices for digital advertising and implement to improve ROI on budget spent.
Email and website management
Draft and[MH2]send emails to target audiences utilizing email platform, and work directly with email platform vendor to solve any problems.
Share email content and drafts as needed for reviews and make timely updates before send dates.
Update website as needed based on department requests for new and additional content as well as best practices for website marketing.
Collect email and website content from across departments as needed, and make recommendations and edits based on marketing best practices and research.
Make recommendations for website updates to replace old content and optimize SEO.
Analytics
Develop, implement, and monitor a process to track data for website, emails, social media, and digital advertising.
Use data to make informed recommendations to improve performance on each platform as well as within individual campaigns that will generate higher audience engagement and follow-through on calls to action.
Share data with supervisor and team to keep all informed on opportunities for improvement and areas of success to build on.
Additional Duties As Needed:
Participate in brainstorms, manage projects and timelines as needed, and stay updated on current trends in digital marketing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Four-year degree with classwork or internships focused on marketing, communications, or related topics.
Experience: One to three years professional experience, with an emphasis on managing a brand or organization’s social media presence and digital analytics.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of digital marketing activities. Experience developing and managing social media plans, including social media ads. Demonstrated successful experience following brand guidelines and writing for social media. Experience working in an email platform, such as Constant Contact or Luminate. Experience editing a website, such as through WordPress, and some familiarity with HTML. Quick learner and ability to multi-task and maintain/oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
COVID vaccination required for employment. Can start with in process vaccination as long as the 2nd dose is administered within 30 days of beginning employment.
