The Library Assistant (LA) is responsible for providing a wide range of public library services to the general public and library patrons, providing reception, administrative, technical and other support services to Yukon Public Libraries.

Experience providing client service in a library or other customer focused environment;
Experience assisting members of the public with basic reference questions, and other information and technology related needs;
Experience using various computer software (e.g. MS Office, Internet Explorer, e-mail); and
Experience using the Integrated Library Systems (ILS) software would be considered an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Ability to conduct detail-oriented work and manage conflicting priorities in a busy environment
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to provide excellent customer service experience to a wide-ranging public;

Ability to troubleshoot a variety of computer software programs; and
Ability to perform routine tasks with accuracy in an environment with constant interruptions.
