Job Description

• Youth For Tomorrow (YFT) has one opening in the Education Department. YFT is seeking one Special Education Teacher to become part of a great team and an administration who values professional development along with serving children and families.

Seeking experience in teaching:

• 7th & 8th grade History
• High School – Econ and Personal Finance
• High School – US Government
• The Teacher will utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials and technology to teach and engage students. Will coordinate with LEAs to maintain, review, schedule and write IEPs. Assist general education teachers and maintain communication records and school information. Will work closely with other departments to make sure the care of the student is complete and progressive.

The primary duty of the Teacher is to utilize all the resources available to help the student succeed. This includes working with and keeping open lines of communication with other Teachers, House Coordinators, Therapists and Case Managers.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least Masters degree from an accredited college or university with the emphasis being on Special Education and certification by the Virginia State Department of Education. Bilingual preferred but not required. Must also be able to manage documentation and other tasks with technology.
