yourtown is undertaking a significant digital transformation and we need your help on this journey! As the teams HR Advisor you will provide support to our People and Culture Business Partners and Head of People and Culture. The role will also provide first-level generalist advice and support to managers and employees as required.

We’re seeking a HR Advisor based in Milton for a 12-month contract to join our experienced and friendly HR team. We are passionate about supporting our people who provide services that help young people in the community to find jobs, learn skills and live safer, happier lives.

What your day could look like

• Collating and provide analysis of meaningful People and Culture metrics and assist in the implementation of specific remedial interventions, including:

o Exit interview feedback
o Turnover rates
o Recruitment time to fill

o Performance data, including compliance with the organisational performance system
o Leave liability

• Act as a first point of contact for the Business Partners and Head of People and Culture, triaging and answering basic queries and escalating all other enquiries as appropriate

• With support from Business Partners, provide practical advice and support to both managers and employees

• Developing position descriptions and applies sizing framework to indicate remuneration

• Support the development and delivery of internal training in Industrial Relations and relevant practices

• Coordinate the development and review of People and Culture policies, procedures and practices including undertaking research, drafting content and leading implementation plans

• Coordinate the mapping and updating of People and Culture workflows

• Develop, review and update resources for managers via the Manager Hub

• Manage the administrative tasks relating to confidential People and Culture processes, including the preparation and filing of correspondence

What you’ll need to thrive in the role

• University level qualification in Human Resource Management or relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years’ experience; or a minimum of five years’ experience in the provision of People & Culture generalist services
• Sound knowledge of relevant Workplace Relations legislation, industrial instruments, standards, policies and procedures.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including presentation and conflict resolution skills and report writing.
• Proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence others
• Demonstrated project management skills
