Job Description
The IT Procurement Manager oversees the daily activities of the technology purchasing function; reviews technology purchasing decisions, orders, and vendor contracts; assists with the ordering of materials and supplies from vendors; researches, interviews, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications; creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and performs related administrative tasks. This position should be and remain familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
1. Assist with purchasing and managing IT hardware through select vendors and providers.
2. Responsible for product support and warranties for all purchased or leased hardware.
3. Create purchase requisitions, in accordance with defined company policy.
4. Maintain appropriate levels of consumables, as defined by company leadership.
5. Receiving and tagging equipment, maintaining a current inventory.
6. Entering asset information into asset tracking software system.
7. Provide pricing quotes for items and preparing orders with suppliers.
8. Ensure line items of the purchase order with the packing slip, ensuring the quality of the materials received.
9. Responsible for shipping defective equipment to vendor and arranging replacement via RMA.
10. Research websites/contact vendors to gather technical information and prices on supplies and equipment
11. Update the inventory listing of property on all new daily deliveries.
12. Works with IT Helpdesk to maintain repository of enterprise software licenses/keys.
13. Assist helpdesk in updating and maintaining inventories for all IT equipment and supplies including location,
14. asset tag number serial number make and model of equipment.
15. Coordinate with Projects Teams requests for equipment installation and maintenance as needed.
16. Responsible for all surplus inventories including recording all End of Life (EOL) inventories and disposal.
17. Identify future opportunities for QOQ departmental shortage reduction.
1. Proficient Use of Service Ticketing System, (i.e. ConnectWise or AutoTask)
2. Interpersonal skills, such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
4. Understanding of Commercial Computer Technology, and major components of a network.
5. 2-4 Years in a Supervisory Role within a Warehouse Position, or Inventory Management position.
6. An Attitude of Servitude in working among a unified team of dedicated professionals.
1. Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of significant work experience working in a high volume fast paced office environment with high degree of responsibility.
2. Experience with software licensing and volume purchasing agreements for the major enterprise system software suppliers (e.g., IBM, HP, Microsoft)
3. Experience in presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.
4. Experience in planning and carrying out software license audits & reconcilements.
5. Certification in Software License Management a plus.
6. It may be beneficial, although not required, that the applicant has coursework experience or degreed in the area of procurement / supply chain management.
