About the role

We’re looking for a passionate software developer with an interest in quality, someone who as a developer recognises the importance of engineering software the right way and writing, configuring and executing tests (both automated and manual) to ensure what we deliver is reliable, fast and correct.

This is not your normal ‘Test Automation’ role, we are looking for an engineering minded candidate to actively participate as part of the development team and engineer and maintain high quality tests at all levels of our application pipeline.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans
• Perform testing of deployed applications (functional, regression, smoke testing)
• Develop new tests and maintain our existing automated tests and bespoke libraries that support them
• Identify and engineer maintainable and reliable automated solutions to replace our existing manual tests
• Write unit/functional/integration tests for APIs and UIs and mobile applications
• Deploy and test applications (automated and manually) in various environments
• Configure CI/CD pipelines to run automated tests
• Work with architects, developers, testers and business analysts to provide design and implementation feedback
• Defect tracking and triaging

Skills and Requirements

Required:

• Demonstrable experience in software development
• ISTQB certification or similar or demonstrable software testing experience
• An eye for detail
• Desire to develop and improve your skills
• Confident in reviewing and understanding pull-requests.
• A solid understanding of git and versioning
• Confident utilising and understanding languages such as: JavaScript, C#, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

Desirable:

• 1+ years in a software development role
• Experience with test automation frameworks, such as: Selenium, Xamarin.UITest, Protractor, and Postman
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Teamcity, Azure Pipelines)
