About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join this high performing team. In this role you will be responsible for providing a range of financial accounting services to support operational performance and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting is maintained with appropriate controls across the general ledger and business transactions of the company. In addition, you will assist our broader Finance team with accounting activities as well as day to day accounts payable support. A normal day may see you:

• Complete daily premium bank reconciliation and liaise with IT Finance to resolve any unreconciled items.
• Complete monthly processes of capturing journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform the role of Finance Business Partner supporting various operational areas with their financial transactions. Assisting with their financial reporting requirements including cost centre analysis and budget variance analysis.
• Checking and Validation of supplier’s bank details
• Assisting in capturing creditor invoices, ensuring they are correctly captured, authorised, and paid in accordance with company guidelines.
• Reconciling Statements & Employee Expense Reimbursements
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes and performance.
• Liaising with Internal and External auditors.
• Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and accounting standards, including financial delegation of authority, policy, and processes.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate is likely to have;

• At least three years’ experience in a finance role similar to the key responsibilities identified in this role (Public Practice or Commercial).

• Impeccable attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

• Solid problem solving and analytical skills and ability to work efficiently towards deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, proactively and with little supervision.

• At least intermediate Excel and Word skills.
• Relevant business or commerce degree
