About the centre
YMCA Tarneit ELC is a 120 place Centre located in the brand new estate of Riverdale Village.

Our vibrant Early Learning Centre incorporates modern and progressive teaching practices which embeds the Early Learning Years Framework.

Working in alignment with YMCA Victoria’s philosophy, our ELC setting prides itself in teaching a calm and structured learning environment where children are exposed to high quality education.

We offer children a purpose-built early learning centre to instil a love of learning, nurture curiosity and a sense of adventure, providing everything needed to play, learn and thrive throughout the day.

About the role
Create a tranquil and positive environment for children to learn and thrive. Adopting modern teaching techniques, you will be well-versed with the National Framework in Early Learning. Your role will involve:

• Working with, and under the direction of the Room Leader to plan and implement quality programs for children responding to their individual strengths and interests using an approved curriculum framework as the platform for planning, practice and reflection;
• Role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning;
• Preparing and clearing up of activities while acknowledging and responding to children’s strengths and interests and capturing key learnings;
• Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children;
• Record keeping and documentation;
• Nurturing the curiosity of children in your care, expanding their skillset and overall development;
• Ensuring the highest quality of service at the Centre.

Casual and part time roles available with an hourly salary of $23.67 – $26.66 (+25% casual loading).

About you
You will be a passionate Early Childhood Educator committed to delivering a superior service for children and their parents. You will:

• Have a solid knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, Victorian Early Years Framework and the Education and Care National Regulations and Act;
• Possess great verbal and written communication skills and can provide parents with effective feedback and encourage them to meet with the Room Leader to discuss children’s development;
• Be able to work under the direction of the Room Leader, independently, and show initiative when required;
• Have a well-developed emotional intelligence to be able to remain calm and composed on the face of anger and frustration;
• Ability to handle and respond to unforeseen accidents, incidents and emergencies while putting up a brave face and remaining calm;
• Have a natural flair in building positive working relationships with stakeholders and driving results;
• Be self-motivated, committed and bringing your best self to work.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood/Children’s services
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
