YMCA Camp Loma Mar Hiring for Food Service Director at Loma Mar, California Full Time

We are seeking an exceptional Food Service Director to work at Camp Loma Mar, YMCA of the East Bay’s oldest and best-known overnight camp, operating year-round on over one hundred acres of pristine mountain land next to Pescadero Creek. With extensive activities ranging from archery to arts and crafts, our zip line, and of course our delicious food, we’re proud to offer the ultimate camping experience since 1914 – but it’s our friendly and professional staff members that elevate Camp Loma Mar to something truly wonderful.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Minimum three years related experience.
• A State of California food service manager and serve safe certificates, or ability to achieve upon hire.
• Prior experience in hiring, training and supervising staff.
• Effective computer and organizational skills.
• Excellent time management, coordination, and communication skills.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Position requires long periods of standing and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Highly organized and detail oriented and must have good problem-solving skills.

Some essential functions include:

• Create and modify new menus seasonally and based on the USDA food guidelines.
• Coordinate planning, budgeting, and purchasing for all the food operations.
• Ensure quality dishes are served on schedule and at the correct temperature.
• Work with Health Services department to ensure dietary needs are met at each meal.
• Plan, direct, and supervise and coordinate activities of cooks, food handlers, and dish washer engaged food preparation, etc.

Annual salary between $64,480-$70,000 with 3-bed/2-bath private residence included.
