We’re looking for Vacation Care Educators; anyone with a children’s services qualification (or would be willing to work towards one) who is passionate about helping children grow… and may be a kid-at-heart themselves!

We can also provide you with ongoing employment with one of 50+ Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services close to your home!

What being an OSHC Educator Entails

OSHC educators care for children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. Highlights include running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children – such as science experiments, outdoor games and painting.

As an OSHC Educator you will:

• hold a rewarding, challenging and interesting position;
• be able to allocate your availability to suit study or family needs;

Your workspace at the Y

YMCA Bowen Hills Vacation Care is situated at our YMCA Bowen Hills Fitness and Recreation Centre. Vacation Care Service is offered between the hours of 6:30am and 6pm during school holiday.

Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children’s agency and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood. We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.

To be successful you must have:

• A Certificate or Diploma qualification in Children Services or equivalent or if you are studying towards a relevant qualification
• A Fantastic sense of fun & a tremendous imagination
• Hold or are willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current Blue Card or willing to obtain one
