Being an OSHC educator holds a lot of flexibility to prioritise study or family needs, and at the Y, you might just discover a family of your own – we have a supportive on the ground and at head office.
What being an OSHC Educator Entails
OSHC educators care for children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. Highlights include running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children – such as science experiments, outdoor games and painting.
As an OSHC Educator you will:
Your workspace at the Y
YMCA Musgrave Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located at Musgrave Hill State School and it is licenced for 75 children. The service offers before school care, after school care and vacation care.
We provide activities that develop each child’s social, emotional, lingual, physical, intellectual and creative potential in a developmentally appropriate manner. Activities are designed to ensure all children can participate in a positive and meaningful way including children with additional support needs and disabilities.
We provide opportunities for unstructured and quiet play, discussions and further research, appropriate to the age of each child. Children can participate in group or individual activities, opt in and out of certain activities, select alternate activities, or even complete homework if the children through the request of their parent / care giver choose to do so. Appropriate spaces and
supervision is provided to meet their needs at all times.
