About Sherbrooke

Sherbrooke Family and Children’s Centre is a Council Operated Early Childhood Education and Kindergarden providing exceptional care to the Yarra Ranges community for over 40 years.

Located in Upwey, our centre provides long day care for infants, toddlers, and a three and four-year-old funded kindergarden program. We currently provide daily education and care to 114 children within 6 fit-for-purpose childcare rooms and large outdoor environment with a focus on nature play. As a Yarra Ranges facility, we also run Maternal Health Care, community hall and toy library from the same site.

About the role

Due to our long-term Educators reaching well deserved retirement, we have exciting opportunities for new Educators to join our supportive team. As part of our team at Sherbrooke, you will possess a passion for inspiring children to explore, discover, and learn and have a strong desire to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be enthusiastic and excited to lead and contribute to our educational programs and effectively engage with educators, families, and children from all social and cultural backgrounds. We recognise the uniqueness of every child and take a holistic approach toward early education and care by accommodating every child’s individual emotional, physical, and psychological needs.

This is a full time position. Salary from $66,258 per annum (Diploma, Band 4), plus 10.5% superannuation and uniform allowance.

What you’ll bring to our team

• Completed Diploma of Children’s Services or higher.
• A caring and nurturing nature with a focus on building relationships with children and families.
• Experience in an early learning setting with an ability to carry out tasks confidently and autonomously.
• Drive to bring new innovative ideas to all aspects of the service.
• Sound practical working knowledge and implementation of the NQF and the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID012) and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to complete.
• Current Working with Children’s Check and Mandatory Reporting training or willingness to complete.
• A passion and enthusiasm for creating educational and engaging play spaces and activities.
