XNG Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

Xpress Natural Gas LLC is a rapidly growing company experiencing continued expansion with its trucked natural gas services. We seek a motivated, hands-on Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Andover, MA.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller in the daily operational and technical accounting areas. The position will be responsible for month end close, reconciliations, variance analysis, completing compliance reports, and ad hoc reporting. To be successful in this role you must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, allocating, consolidating, and entering general ledger transactions
• Review accounts payable voucher and check runs
• Review cash receipts and prepare bank reconciliations
• Responsible for billing accounts and accounts receivable collection
• Prepare work papers used in preparing financial statements
• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses for cash, inventory, cost of sales, accrued expenses, and other accounts
• Complete monthly, quarterly and year end reporting schedules
• Prepare audit schedules and analyses as requested by external auditors
• Assist in preparation of the annual budget
• Maintain records and files
• Record and track fixed assets and capital purchases
• Process semi-monthly payroll
• Assist with insurance management
• Assist the Controller in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
• Ad hoc projects as requested

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• 2+ years of demonstrated senior accountant experience, Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
• Exposure to or experience in Financial analysis a plus
• Financial consolidation and reporting experience
• Strong GAAP foundation
• Knowledge of Sage/Peachtree accounting software Preferred but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $72,000.00 per year
