The Talent Specialist plays an integral role within the Global Talent Experience team and you will partner closely with hiring managers to attract, assess and engage the best talent in the market and facilitate best-in-class candidate experiences. This role will work closely with our Customer Experience, Education, Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to name a few.
As a Talent Specialist you will be the primary contact point for internal and external candidates and will build authentic #human relationships to support their candidate journey from attraction through to selection.
You’ll take a proactive recruitment approach, working closely with the Talent Business Partners, global Talent Experience team and wider business to establish relationships, ensuring our recruitment process is efficient and effective.
You will be a Xero brand ambassador across your relevant talent communities to build awareness of Xero and promote Xero as an Employer of choice.
What you’ll do
- Manage end-to-end hiring processes consistent with global best practices. Including but not limited to; opening requisitions on Workday, position approvals, job briefs, hiring strategies/plans, compelling advertising, sourcing, screening, interview planning and scheduling and offer negotiation
- Ensure hiring practices and processes reflect the Xero values and have a strong focus on diversity and inclusion
- Consistently communicate with business stakeholders and candidates to ensure everyone involved is kept up to date and informed and informing PX on internal mobility and candidate progress to ensure alignment on salary decisions
- Hold a deep understanding of the recruitment processes and policies across Xero so you can work closely with the wider talent team to ensure the people leader community are educated, informed and confident when growing their teams
- Have a presence in the region as a go to person for hiring questions including but not limited to internal applications and the talent scout program
- Seek feedback and stay up to date with candidate survey outcomes to ensure you can identify areas of improvement and opportunities
- Work closely with your Talent Specialist peers across the globe in relevant community of practice groups to ensure education and consistency
- Regularly attends market/community engagements to continue building and supporting the Xero brand

- Attracting quality talent through innovative sourcing campaigns, platforms and initiatives for a variety of business portfolios / skill sets
What you’ll bring with you
- A successful history of attracting high quality active, and passive candidates through innovative sourcing methods
- Managing and delivering the recruitment needs of a dynamic business portfolio, preferably in an in-house Talent Acquisition team
- Excellent candidate management experience
- An understanding of how you can seek out diverse candidates and promote inclusivity through your hiring processes
- Proven ability to deal with confidential information with discretion
- Positive team player with a growth mindset
