We have roles in two areas: Xero Product where you will design and build new features for Xero software, or Xero Platform where you’ll build and maintain critical applications and services consumed by teams throughout Xero globally.

Our Tech Stack
Technology is made up of many tools, programming languages and frameworks that are continually changing and evolving. Therefore at Xero, you won’t find a long list of must-have tech you need to already be working with. While we don’t require you to have worked with our tech stack previously, what is important is you are happy to learn and work with it.

Generally, if a team is spinning up a new code base it may look like the following:
  • A microservice, written in C# on .NET or a Node.js microservice written in Typescript
  • Utilising a variety of AWS services
  • Running in a Docker container, orchestrated by Kubernetes
  • Accessed by SPA written in React with TypeScript
  • Deployed with an automated CI/CD pipeline
  • Monitored by industry leading monitoring, alerting, and logging tools

  • Start your day at a time which suits your schedule
  • Collaborate with your team on Google Meet at your daily standup
  • Heaps of time to code uninterrupted before lunch
  • Chat with colleagues across the globe on shared interest or D&I employee resource groups on Slack (Xero-pets, Xero-foodies and Xero-memes are some of our favorites)
  • Jump into a huddle with your Agile Coach or Product Manager who’ll answer your questions around modern product delivery practices
  • More dedicated uninterrupted time after lunch for focused work or a tech review, design team catch-up, peer review or perhaps time for an internal Xero tech talk
  • Give back to the tech community by getting involved with any of the communities of practice, Meetups or other online events we host
  • 1:1 meetings where you set your agenda, where it’s about you, to develop you
  • Company wide focus time and some teams agree on ‘no-meeting days’ too!
