DESCRIPTION

Xenomics is recruiting a Full-Stack Software Engineer to develop innovative software solutions to accelerate data analysis across a diverse set of biological research projects. The ideal applicant will have a skill set that includes a strong background in containerization and workflows (with bioinformatics experience preferred); robust programming skills including Python, HTML, and Django Experience with proteomics or metabolomics data processing workflow.

As a Software Engineer in a highly cross-functional setting, you will design, build, test, deploy and monitor cloud services for our manufacturing and R&D applications. You will have two types of users- scientists in a lab setting with no software engineering knowledge, and the engineering team developing data-analysis workflows and other software products. This would be a full-time role, but we are open to remote work as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with users and product managers to gather and refine requirements

• Create and translate UI / UX wireframes into visual elements using React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python

• Maintain and extend the applications RESTful web service / APIs in Python

• Implement features end-end from user interface through persistent storage.

• Provide written documentation and specifications of software products and services. Preferably in a regulated environment such as IVD or CLIA.

• Evaluate, test, and use open-source software and applications

• Interface with other teams to obtain requirements and support deployed applications.

• Ability and desire to work on all aspects of software development in an agile environment including documentation, design, development, and testing of features and sub-systems.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related study or equivalent project experience.

EXPERIENCE:

• Expert understanding of Full-stack, including HTML, Django, CSS, and Javascript.
• 2+ years experience developing software in a production environment preferred.
