Xanterra Travel Collection Hiring for HR Generalist – Oasis at Death Valley at Death Valley, CA Full Time

The HR Generalist will have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to evaluation. This person will have a passion for HR, is familiar with California labor law, excellent with people, has solid computer and office skills and has a passion for living and exploring in the desert.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
• Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives.
• Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
• Writes, revises, edits and proofreads company policies and procedures and related documents as needed.
• Works with hiring managers to develop and update job descriptions as needed.
• Undertake tasks around performance management.
• Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
• Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.
• Perform a wide variety of administrative support tasks including answering phones and questions from callers, routing calls appropriately, typing memos and letters, distributing and picking up mail, ordering office supplies.
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communications skills – strong customer service skills and ability to work well with others.
• Appropriate public contact skills in dealing with persons with a wide variety of backgrounds, ability to deal tactfully with problem situations.
• Proven experience as an HR Generalist.
• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
• Aptitude in problem solving.
• Knowledge of office procedures, protocol and file maintenance.
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft suite.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• A valid driver’s license.

• Prior work as an HR Generalist, Specialist or Coordinator
• SHRM-CP or SCP a plus.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)

• Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion.
• Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
