About the Role

The instrument software team creates the firmware and control software central to our instruments, covering areas such as motion control, high precision microscopy as well as fluidics.

What you will be doing

• Provide hands-on technical leadership
• Implement effective engineering processes and policies
• Drive excellence in engineering and team performance
• Work with teams across 10xGenomics to foster a collaborative culture to deliver the right product on-time

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 4 years of software development experience;

OR 6 years of professional experience building software

3 years leading software teams in an operational or technical capacity

Preferred skills and experience

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong desire to mentor and grow employees
• Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Demonstrated disciplined and rigorous software engineering practices
• You understand the importance of software processes in service of engineering
• You understand the importance of testing
• Deep understanding of HW-SW interfaces, control systems and software architecture
• Deep experience building highly available, Linux-based embedded systems
• Deep understanding of testing, build, continuous integration, deployment & continuous monitoring

Below is the base pay range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
