Wythe Academy Hiring for Teacher Job at Atlanta, GA Full Time

Wythe Academy is seeking a Guide to support its Spark Studio (4-6-year-olds). The Guide will oversee a studio of 8-10 learners.

It is the Guide’s responsibility to:

• Prepare the studio environment, including the Montessori and unstructured-play materials, so that expectations are clear and learners are set up for success.

• Launch project-based learning activities (a.k.a., “quests”).

• Guide students in self-governance, goal-setting, and progress-tracking.

• Guide children in creating meaningful portfolios of work.

• Model what it means to be an independent lifelong learner on a hero’s journey.

• Uphold Wythe Academy’s core beliefs and promises to its students and families.

• Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling guest speakers, taking behind-the-scenes photos, supervising field trips, etc.

• Write weekly studio updates that will be shared with parents and posted to the school’s blog.

• Meet and communicate with parents, as needed.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

We are looking for an individual with a deep curiosity about life, a lifelong love of learning, and an entrepreneurial spirit (must thrive in a startup environment).

• Has proven excellence in guiding children (in or out of a school environment).

• Has experience implementing Montessori or Reggio Emilia methods of learning (preferred but not required).

• Has a clear passion for children and cultivating their potential.

• Models a growth mindset and loves to experiment, iterate, and improve upon everything she/he does.

• Has deep respect for all children, empathy for the challenges that children face in their lives, and a commitment to peaceful, compassionate limit setting.

• Is a quick, independent learner who can take direction and then run with it, requiring little direct supervision/guidance once goals have been communicated.

• Has proven excellence in written and oral communications.

• Is gifted in assessing and positively influencing group dynamics.

• Models effective self-regulation and conflict-resolution skills, and can guide learners in the development of these skills.

• Is an avid reader.

• Is receptive to receiving feedback, and open to being coached and mentored.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
