Role Summary :

The VP Engineering / Engineering Manager at WestLink holds a pivotal role in shaping the technical architecture, fostering innovation, and providing strategic leadership to the development teams.

The primary objectives of this role are to set the initial architecture, optimize the development process, and elevate the developers through effective communication, coaching, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities :

Architectural Leadership :

Sets the initial architecture and conducts regular reviews to ensure alignment with company goals.

Understands company needs to define system specifications and provides a robust technical foundation.

Team Development and Strategy :

Elevates development teams by implementing strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of innovation.

Plans and designs the structure of technology solutions to meet current and future business requirements.

Communication and Collaboration :

Effectively communicates system requirements to software development teams, ensuring a clear understanding of project objectives.

Addresses technical concerns, ideas, and suggestions to promote collaborative problem-solving.

Best Practices and Quality Assurance :

Evaluates and teaches good development practices.

Oversees assigned programs, including conducting code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.

Technical Problem-Solving :

Assists in solving technical problems as they arise, demonstrating a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills :

Proven experience as an Engineering Manager.

Experience in both startup and enterprise solutions.

Hands-on experience with software development and system administration.

Understanding of strategic IT solutions, project management, and service-oriented architecture.

Knowledge of coding languages, familiarity with various operating systems, and experience in cloud technologies.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a technical sales or sales development role, preferably within the software development industry.

Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development concepts, languages, and technologies. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

Active listening skills and the ability to uncover a lead’s pain points and needs. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.

Prior experience in lead qualification and nurturing is a plus
