The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our Sydney office. This role is key in supporting the General Manager, Finance Planning & Control while partnering with diverse stakeholders across our business.

What you’ll do:

Budget/Forecast and Financial Analysis

• Support the General Manager Finance Planning and Control in the budgeting and forecasting processes to deliver accurate and timely information in accordance with Australia and head office timeframes.
• Compile and analyse budget assumptions, drivers, metrics, corporate costs, balance sheet and CAPEX budgets.
• Support corporate business leaders in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and provide financial analysis as required.
• Ensure approved budgets and forecasts are loaded into Hyperion, including associated Hyperion schedules and reconciliations between systems within the required timeframes.
• Provide timely monitoring of Enterprise functions’ financial performance and analysis of deviations from budget or forecast, ensuring divergences and opportunities are detected early and brought to the attention of Enterprise Leadership Team.

WSP Group Reporting

• Assist in the compilation of the monthly/quarterly business reviews for the Australia region. Accurate and timely delivery is essential.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to WSP Global Head Office based in Canada.
• Collaborate with the GM Workplace and Head of Technology in tracking CAPEX spend against budget and reporting to group.
• Preparation of any other adhoc reports or analysis, as required by the CFO, Enterprise leaders or the WSP Global FP&A team.

Strategic Analysis and Other

• Obtain market data and public information for benchmarking and provide analysis and updates to senior management.
• Provide financial analysis to support and inform the strategic plan, working collaboratively with the Business Development team.
• Partner with the GM Finance Planning and Control in supporting approved business change initiatives.

What we’ll love about you:

• Degree qualified, and CA/CPA qualified or equivalent.
• 2 or more years’ practical experience in a chartered firm or corporate accounting role.
• Good understanding of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities.
• Good systems knowledge including large ERPs (SAP, Oracle etc), Power BI, reporting systems and advance MS Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and quality with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage tasks and delivery to strict deadlines.
• Team player, working collaboratively to deliver results with a customer service focus.
• Interpersonal skills that will enable effective communication with a wide range of people.
