Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager

Reports To: Corporate Controller

Job Description

This dynamic and challenging role will provide the ideal candidate the opportunity to learn about our fast-growing company as a part of our expanding finance team. This highly visible position is responsible for leading all corporate reporting functions including but not limited to: preparation and analysis of monthly consolidated financial statements, consolidations, annual and quarterly public company reporting among other tasks. A successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment able to balance multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the following specific tasks. Other duties may be assigned at any time.

• Consolidation of the monthly financial statements and review with senior management.
• Manage the preparation of annual and quarterly IFRS Financial Statements, Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and supporting information.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of quarterly earnings releases, investor materials and presentations, and other press releases as required.
• Manage the preparation of financial reporting to the company’s joint venture partners.
• Prepare quarterly management/board reports.
• Perform technical accounting research under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Support quarterly valuation process of investment properties and company equity awards.
• Prepare underlying calculations for complex transactions such as derivatives, equity compensation and others.
• Interface with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Support business requests to review tenant financial statements for credit worthiness.

Additional areas of focus may include:

• Interface with and assist in preparing ad-hoc analysis requests from senior management. Assist in the documentation of internal controls.
• Assist in Company-wide process improvement initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with members of the Investment Management and Asset Management teams to respond to ad-hoc analysis requests from the business.

Qualifications

1. Job requirements

• Education

Candidate must have a four-year degree in accounting. CPA designation is required.

• Work Experience

Candidate must have a minimum of four to six years work experience in public accounting, financial reporting for a publicly traded company or a combination of both. Real Estate industry experience is a plus.

1. Knowledge, skills & abilities

• Candidate must be proficient in U.S. GAAP with IFRS experience a plus.
• Familiarity with general audit procedures
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Experience and/or familiarity with MRI, Workiva, and Argus is preferred
• Self-starter that wants to learn and who understands how to work in a team environment to meet critical deadlines
• Ability to interface with senior management
