ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently looking for an outstanding Financial Accountant to work from home and in our North Sydney office. As a key member of the General Accounting team, the role provides support to our WPP AUNZ brands whilst working alongside the Assistant Accountants and Senior Finance Managers to deliver day to day financial accounting and reporting duties.

Reporting of the role

The role reports to the Senior Finance Manager.

Measures of success:

In 3 months:

• Have mastered our Accounting IT packages
• Understand and are able to navigate the Group structure
• Work independently to meet deadlines and commitments

In 6 months:

• You will have forged a strong relationship with internal stakeholders
• Mastered the Finance Manager role

In 12 months:

• Deliver best in class accounting services to your client group and be ready to take on more responsibility

WHAT YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME DOING

• Build relationships and partner with your designated operating company
• End to end management of the month-end and year-end closing processes and reporting requirements
• Management of general ledger and all entries and account reconciliations
• Monitoring adherence to the month-end close period to ensure duties are performed efficiently and effectively
• Preparation of management and submission of financial reports in accordance with the group reporting timetable
• Ensuring compliance with all tax reporting requirements including income tax, GST, and employment taxes
• Managing the integrity of the Financial Accounting & Reporting function in accordance with Sarbanes & Oxley Control processes (SOX)
• Coordinate and manage the annual external and internal audit cycles including planning, timelines, information management and responding to requests

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• A degree in Accounting or a related field
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Qualifications in CPA or CA
• Customer focus
• Able to manage and build relationships both internally and externally
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability and experience in working with and meeting key performance targets
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and to adapt in changing environment
