The role:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, and working very closely with the Renewables Portfolio Manager, the finance lead will foster excellence across the organisation in areas such as forecasting, balance sheet reporting, revenue recognition, month end reporting, client reporting and client billing and collections.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely monthly consolidated reporting on financial performance of contracts.
• Business analysis and reporting on variance versus bid, versus budget and versus forecast
• Preparing rolling forecasts and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for renewables contracts
• Preparing contract life forecasts and percentage complete forecast models.
• Ensuring all aspects of revenue recognition accounting standard are captured in contract accounting.
• Accurate contracts cashflow reporting, ensuring contract billing is done on a timely basis and debts collected in due time.
• Provide support to the sales team in preparation bid cost builds.
• Prepare accurate client reporting as requested and when requested by portfolio manager.
• Ensuring adequate working papers are prepared to support all contract balance sheet positions.
• Engage with the operational teams on an ongoing basis to ensure business processes are followed and adequate financial controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure contract transactions are accurately captured and reported, not limited to inventory reporting, provisions, labour costs, subcontractor costs
• Any other ad hoc projects and tasks provided by the renewables portfolio manager and Finance head.

About you:

The successful candidate showcases good financial stewardship and history of providing high level financial and analytical support. Couple this with,

• Strong technical accounting skills; Atleast 5 Years in Project Accounting
• CA/CPA/ACCA qualified
• Excellent stakeholder management
• Well rounded interpersonal skills – be able to communicate clearly and concisely
• Knowledge and understanding of a contract/project/ O&M environment
• Extensive experience with ERP’s – Microsoft AX experience is highly desirable
• Advanced Excel skills , including modelling skills.
• Ability to work independently with remote teams
• Able to juggle multiple requests and tasks at any one time
