Overall Responsibilities

Oversee and lead the accounting and finance functions of the company, including the recording classification and reporting of company financial transactions; the control of all corporate assets; preparation of the annual operating plan; implementation or improvements in the accounting reporting systems – both automated and manual.

Essential Duties

• Direct the installation, implementation or improvement of electronic Accounting Reporting Systems to improve accuracy and efficiency of financial data flow.
• Direct the preparation of all financial reports, GAAP based Financial Statements and all External Financial Reporting.
• Develop and manage accounting processes, budgets, forecasts, and business planning programs to appropriately measure financial performance.
• Direct all audit activities by external sources to ensure internal control and maintain compliance with financial agreements.
• Analyze and interpret financial and operational results; isolate adverse factors and prescribe corrective action.
• Review and maintain compliance with third-party agreements, including vendor, customer, or other agreements.
• Coordinate efforts to comply with various regulatory reporting and audit requirements.
• Analyze and recommend action on Capital Investment Projects.
• Study proposed changes in financial valuation and/or costing method and the impact on the financials.
• Develop and continuously improve finance and accounting staff capabilities and efficiency by providing them with guidance, direction, counsel, training and motivation.
• Serve as primary government and regulatory liaison relative to financial issues.
• Work with department heads assisting with development of short- and long-term goals and measurements.
• Advise management regarding effective use of resources, creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
• Perform special projects as required

Education/experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Five years of professional experience in similar capacity
• Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and planning, with technological accounting application.
• PC literate with high proficiency in office applications and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical ability; exceptional discipline and organizational skills essential.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven managerial skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of DOT and FAA regulations and guidelines a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
