Founded in 1948 as Wright Airways [founding motto – “If there is air, we’ll fly you there!] by Al Wright, an Athabaskan born in Tanacross and raised in Minto — today, Wright Air remains deeply-rooted in rural Alaska — we recognize that the existence of safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation is a foundational component of modern-day village life in Alaska.
And, yes, Wright Air is an airline — but, the flight services we provide are a means to an end rather than the end in and of itself — the people of Wright Air have a deep and authentic respect for the people of the rural communities we serve — at Wright Air, we know the land witnesses, we know the land is wise, and we know the land speaks — it is the residents of the villages we serve that live closest to the land — thus, it is they to whom the land speaks with the loudest voice — it is they who are the vitally important stewards of Alaska’s most important asset — the land and the culture of its 1st peoples forged by thousands of years living on and with the land, and listening carefully when the land speaks — and, yes, in a changing world where many of us Alaskans find ourselves in urban environments, working in offices, commuting in cars — it has never been more important to ensure the vitality and success of our region’s village for decades/centuries to come.
Extend soulful hospitality to our guests — and, enjoy doing it.
Work hard — thus, making the work meaningful for us and creating value for our guests.
Care [genuinely!!!] about the communities we serve.
