Supplier Capability and Insights Manager

The Opportunity
This role exists to develop and deliver specific programs of work to improve Trade Partner Capability to partner with Woolworths and develop and implement tools and processes to build stronger Joint Plans that deliver mutual growth with demonstrated business impact. The Supplier Capability and Insights Manager will work with key partners in Commercial and Quantium to deliver data and insights with Trade Partners to build their capability to partner with Woolworths.

The role also exists to develop and implement tools and training/capability building programs aligned to the strategy for our Commercial Team and Trade Partners to use Woolworths data tools (including Supplier Connect) to achieve growth, improve VOS to ensure Woolworths is the Trading Partner of choice for our suppliers. The role will partner closely with the Commercial team, Quantium and wiq retail.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include

• Develop and implement the Supplier Capability Plan including programs and tools to achieve improvements in supplier relationships
• Lead the delivery of meaningful insights (on Supplier Commercial Performance, Supplier Strategy, Supplier Initiatives and Customer Insights) to Commercial Teams that result in strong Joint Plans
• Develop initiatives aligned to the strategy to improve Joint plans between Commercial and Trade Partners (quality and quantity)
• Assist with the development and lead the delivery of training programs for Commercial Teams to help them build best in class joint plans
• Assist with the development of and lead the delivery of capability improvement training programs for Trade Partners in Fresh and Long Life categories to enable their use of commercial data to drive business outcomes
• Influence and build strong relationships with the Commercial Team (MM’s/CM’s) to deliver mutually beneficial programs and platforms that improve visibility to Supplier performance to enable mutual growth
• Develop programs to efficiently track progress against Joint Plan targets and provide support for Commercial teams to enable monthly/quarterly progress discussions and develop programs to track improvements in Supplier Capability
• Work collaboratively with Category Development Team, Quantium and Commercial Team

To be successful in this role and thrive in our high performance culture, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Strategic thinking and expertise in develop tools and programs to deliver capability uplift and document Joint Plans
• Planning and continuous improvement skills including using data and system to track business performance
• Understanding of how to create meaningful insights from data to improve capability of teams/ partners
• Running/delivering training/ capability programs
• Retail experience particularly in buying, category management, data to deliver performance outcomes
• Degree in marketing or business
• 7+ yrs experience driving sound insights from Data to provide direction for business plans
• Commercial Experience in buying (preferred)
• Strong Project management
• Strong Analytical Skills – Training/ capability building
• Product development/management skills (IT products and systems)
• Collaboration with technical roles and commercial roles
