The Opportunity
An Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for executing and optimising marketing projects, activities and campaigns. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of strong business and brand health results with a clear line of sight to deliver value for our customers through product development, key events and marketing activities. At WFC, an Assistant Brand Manager is a critical cross-functional operator whose strong grasp of marketing fundamentals supports the growth of our brands.

What You’ll Do

• Review and analyse the sales and brand dashboards to make key assessments on brand performance
• Keeping a pulse on the local and international competitive landscape including marketing activities, new product launches and brand communication initiatives
• Utilise existing data to help support the strategy brand plans including data reviews and store walks
• Hold a deep understanding of who the customer is and what’s important to them (drivers & barriers) to add valuable insights across various stages of the product and comms development process
• Responsible for delivering the brand requirements within the assigned squad including stakeholder management, brand development and day-today project delivery
• Partner with Product Developers and Design specialists to bring large volumes of best-in-class products to market at pace, whilst ensuring the proposition is adding to the ambition of the brand
• Support the Brand Planning process, including strategy, development and execution of the brand plans and the Marketing 6Ps
• Lead Comms briefs and the development of tactical briefs
• Working within effective cross-functional squads to deliver projects on time and on budget such as Catalogue, Everyday Rewards campaigns, Woolies X, Online content etc
• Support the execution and administration of new product development process including but not limited to design briefs, photography requests and campaign execution
• Execution of key elements of the ATL and BTL integrated (including shoots, etc) campaigns with strong measurement plans that deliver incremental sales and positive ROI
• Day to day contact of agency
• Managing brand budget on a day to day basis, raising purchase orders and reconciling invoices.
• Integrating relevant brands into Brand and Reputation led campaigns

What You’ll Bring

• Degree or tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or Commerce
• Minimum 3 years in marketing (or marketing related) experience
• Demonstrated retail and/or FMCG experience
• Previous experience in ATL and BTL campaigns
• Exposure to the Brand Development process from Insight and Strategy to Execution
• Exposure and experience in NPD projects and delivery
• Involvement in the developing of briefs, including but not limited to, packaging and marketing communications
• Previous experience liaising with agencies
• Experience working in an agile environment
