About you

Are you an Operations Manager passionate about people initiatives and looking to utilise your people and operational skills? Or perhaps you are a strong HR Business Partner with proven success supporting operational teams on the ground. You will enjoy getting out and about in stores, and building genuine working relationships with the team on the ground and across our Support Office.

You will also have:

• Proven experience in a people-focused position working operationally
• Experience in an FMCG/Retail environment or relatable industry
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Operational knowledge on the ground within supermarkets/retail or relatable businesses

About the role

The Operations People Partner , internally known as a People Priorities Lead , is responsible for linking stores with our People team, ensuring our people strategies are operationalised and prioritised. This role is responsible for informing the people priorities roadmap for the Supermarket Business, as well as providing operational guidance to create content for store team Talent and Capability plans.

The People Priorities Lead will play a pivotal role in partnering and collaborating with internal stakeholders including Supermarket Operations and National Support Teams, to ensure the team needs are heard and prioritised to deliver maximum engagement and performance at a store level.

Day to day duties

Customer First:

• Lead with the customer first in all thinking, planning, and prioritising
• Be naturally curious about process improvement for the benefit of the team and customers
• Ensure all actions benefit stores and make things simpler
• Respond promptly and professionally to all customer and store queries and provide resolution

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Partnering and collaborating with internal stakeholders including Supermarket Operations, National Operations, and People teams whilst ensuring regular communication and consultation
• Partner with the People team to understand People priorities, contributing within the relevant forums to operationalise plans and communicate key store priorities whilst determining opportunities to bundle initiatives with team experience front of mind
• Partner across multiple relevant functions, including People Tribes, to connect People Priorities and Programs of work to enhance team experience
• Partner with the National Capacity team to determine opportunities to bundle People Priorities to improve team engagement and aid in embedding programs

Leadership:

• Lead by example to ensure the best outcomes for operations teams and customers
• Support teams across multiple states and locations and demonstrate effective communication to drive best practice outcomes for stores
• Lead as a voice of stores by having a presence within Store Operations at regular points in time to understand current ways of working, challenges, and opportunities

Manage and Deliver on the People Priorities Programs:

• Inform the people priorities roadmap based on store team feedback
• Provide operational guidance and create operational content for store team Talent and Capability plans
• Develop deployment plans for our store teams on People initiatives, including Future of Work and Team Experiences including Recruitment, Rostering, and Development Processes
• Provide operational leadership to activate Multi Skilling in our stores, including accurate availabilities, streamlined training, and engagement of Department Managers/Store Managers
• Lead and Manage Group Leads and other various Capability programs
• Partner within People Tribes on relevant people priorities to ensure there is a voice of Operations whilst assisting with bringing key priorities to life and ensuring they are fit for purpose
• Hold governance on People Programs where relevant
• Partner with Continuous Improvement and National Capacity to determine opportunities to bundle programs of work upstream, prioritising team engagement and the ability to land and embed ongoing
