Launched in 2021, Greenstock consolidated the Woolworths Group’s existing red meat livestock procurement, processing, trading and supply teams. Greenstock now acts as Woolworths’ end-to-end upstream red meat supply chain expert, combining deep industry expertise with advanced analytics to deliver high-quality and sustainable beef, lamb and pork to Woolworths’ existing and developing sales channels in Retail and Foodservice.

About The Role

This role is a key hire which will be directly responsible for analysing and coordinating the livestock procurement decisions for beef, pork and lamb (~$1.6bn per annum) using advanced decision tools. The role is required to facilitate decisions in a way that balances group profit ($/head, $/kg) whilst balancing customer value proposition & store service levels.

The Senior Manager Analytics will need to work autonomously to drive key projects and commercial outcomes, as well as leading core streams within S&OP and Integrated Business Planning, enabling Greenstock to drive superior productivity across the value chain.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

Strategy Execution

• Support and enable the Greenstock strategic priorities with a specific focus on strategic sourcing, supply chain agility and operational excellence
• Promote and develop a data-led culture across the Greenstock team; encourage and promote the use of data to uplift capability and improve accuracy of decision making – always balancing with experience and tacit knowledge within the team

Sales & Operations Planning

• Provide active decision support to our sourcing and manufacturing teams using advanced analytics. Includes (i) upfront alignment with commercial, (ii) proactive demand controls, (iii) supply mix optimisation & profit economics, and (iv) analysis of last mile manufacturing and service level performance
• Lead commercial and operational decision support through the use of analytics and storytelling

Analytics

• Develop a clear and comprehensive data strategy that bring together multiple domains (e.g. Finance, Commercial, Operations) to deliver impactful insights and commercial outcomes
• Partner with IT to deliver fit-for-purpose data sets (including lead and lag indicators) to ensure that we are able to “measure & manage” with the goal of driving superior productivity across the value chain

Who We Are Looking For

This is a multi-faceted role which will require deep knowledge across a broad number of fields including commerce, finance, mathematics, and analytics. In order to partner effectively with both the Greenstock leadership team and broader Woolworths stakeholders, high communication competence is essential with proven experience in influencing, simplifying complex issues and providing clear recommendations using data.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or similar field
• Previous experience in supply chain and / or manufacturing analytics
• Basic understanding of strategy formulation
• Previous experience managing teams of 5-10 headcount
• Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines with tight time constraints
• High agency – finding a way to get things done, without waiting for conditions to be perfect
• Anticipate and identity issues and opportunities quickly
• Commercial decision support, making sense of ambiguity
• Grasp and understand critical subject matter issues in an accurate, in depth way
